This vest stays very well balanced when concealed carrying. It's way better than I had hoped. I have a denim vest that hangs lower on the gun side when I carry a S&W M&P 9 Shield. I had to use a heavy cell phone, wallet, and keys on the opposite side to get the vest to hang about evenly. But this Xelement vest is perfect. It is perfectly well balanced and I don't need to add any weight to the opposite side to get that fit. And it does not print either. It's very discreet. I was even able to carry a S&W M&P M2.0 Compact which is just about a full size pistol really, noticeably heavier than the Shield, and it was almost perfectly balanced even with that added weight. It sticks out a little more than the Shield but not enough to tell what it is. This vest gets 5 stars for comfort and good, balanced fit and being discreet. The only ding I give it in my rating, and this could be critical depending on the circumstances, is it's not designed for a quick draw. You would need a few seconds of advance warning to produce the pistol in a timely manner. If you don't think you'll have a few seconds, then you might need to consider another vest. About the sizes: when people say you will need to order a larger size than you think you wear, believe them. I typically wear L or XL but my Xelement vest is a 2X and it fits perfectly. You definitely need to order one size up, maybe two sizes up. If you order in a size you usually wear, you will have to send it back.
