Love the jacket but sizing inaccurate

I love the jacket, excellent quality. Sizing was really off and had to return the first one for a size bigger. I usually wear an XL but initially ordered 2X figuring it would be large so I could wear a sweatshirt under it. That size barely fit so returned it for a 3X. It fits fine but not sure about a sweatshirt under it. So it definitely runs really small.
