Hot Leathers is very proud to announce our collaboration with Dave and Jody Perewitz.  Here is a little history on the Perewitz brand. What started as a dream in 1969 had blossomed into Cycle Fab by 1971. Cycle Fab was the brainchild of Dave Perewitz from Brockton MA. Throughout the 70’s, Dave grew from a small storefront building to the painting of his own custom builds to be known as the King of Flames.  This was done the old fashioned way by traveling around the country to motorcycle events of all sizes and making a name for himself.  Over the the course of his historic career he has created custom builds for stars from the NFL, NASCAR, WWE and the Rock & Roll world. Perewitz's business continued to grow over the course of the 80’s & 90’s with more and more custom builds, dozens of magazine covers and feature stories.  Fast forward to the 2000’s and the bike builder craze hit everyone's TV right in their living rooms. Dave Perewitz was right in the middle of it all sharing the screen with Billy Lane and Paul Yaffe as part of the Discovery Channel "Biker Build Off" series. Dave has been a fixture in our industry with a smile on his face and always a handshake or hug for all.  Talk with Dave for two minutes and you feel like you have been friends for years.
Now his daughter Jody is involved the family business. Jody Perewitz has been around the industry her entire life. She has followed in her dad's footsteps and has been all over the world visiting motorcycle events and has built a name for herself as a world class racer and holds over a dozen land speed records.  Jody was the first woman to ever go over 200 MPH on an American V-twin powered motorcycle and is a member of the Bonneville 200 MPH club. Old motorcycles are  her real passion these days.  Jody has competed in the Motorcycle Cycle Cannoball Endurance Race, going from Portland Maine to Portland OR on a 1926 Harley and also completed the 2019 Motorcycle Chase from Michigan all the way to Key West.  Dave and Jody have both been inducted into the Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame, Dave in 2001 and Jody in 2020.  This makes them the first father daughter duo to be inducted.  The latest phase in their career is a hugely successful online show that has them sharing industry news and telling stories from their long history as well as that of other industry leaders.  This is just the first of many merch ideas you will be seeing from us in 2021 and beyond.
