If you live in a dry area these bags are wonderful.

Absolutely not waterproof. My school books, binder, and clothes were soaked in the bottom couple of inches after an hour ride.

Other than that, the construction is durable, real leather, the pocket velcro is great, and the top seal is fine. Water only soaked in through the bottom where either the seams were poor or the heat resistant material is significantly less waterproof than the leather itself.

2 Stars because I live in the PNW and specifically needed waterproof bags. If they had kept the water out 5 stars no question.

Awesome set of bags for

Awesome set of bags for the price! as most reviews have said very roomy and big! Only down side for me is they are a little too big for my HD 1200C (i believe they get in the way of the passenger seating ... good thing they zip right off). Once I had saddlebag supports installed they sat perfect and away from the exhaust.

As for waterproofing, the main compartment stays dry, but the side pockets do let moisture in so don't keep anything to valuable in them.

Overall I am very pleased to have these at the stellar price under $100.

Glad I read Reviews before purchasing because it was the best purchase ever. The bags are bigger tha they appear, as soon as they were put on my bike and road...I've received quite a few compliments and they couldn't believe the price I paid for them. Love the room and extra pockets, you can't go wrong with this purchase!

These are great for my

These are great for my 1100 Virago. They are sturdy and well made. The only issue is the bag opens up into my tail lights. They are a little bigger then expected but they look great. The material is fairly soft so I can still manage to get items in and out plus it has the quick release snaps that make them great for short trips.

I haven't tried them in the rain yet so my fingers are crossed they work well.
